Les allées et venues sont la matérialisation sur le sol du déplacement quotidien de certains habitants volontaires, par une ligne rouge pour un seul itinéraire significatif. Il en résulte différents tracés allant çà et là dans le quartier. J’ai soumis aux habitants un plan détaillé du quartier en vue aérienne, afin d’obtenir un premier tracé de leur part. Il m’a été possible ensuite de les suivre avec un vaporisateur pour marquer le quartier de ces manifestations réelles.

À partir des plans récupérés, tous les itinéraires sont reproduits en superposition sur une toile géante. Cette interprétation plastique montre du quartier ce qui ne se voit pas, mais qui constitue un moment vécu d’une partie de l’essence du quotidien des habitants du quartier, une partie de son visage. Elle se présente alors comme cartographie d’itinéraires inaperçus. Ainsi mises en évidence dans l’espace public, elles offrent la perspective de faire émerger les valeurs qu’elles portent.

The comings and goings are materialised on the ground. The daily mouvements of certain volunteers are traced, by a red line for only one significant route. Various layouts results from them going here and there in the district. I submitted a detailed airplan of the district to the local people in order to obtain a first layout of their participation. Secondly, I have followed them with a spray to mark the real neighbourhood of these demonstrations.

Starting from the recovered plans, all the routes are reproduced in superposition on a giant canvas. This plastic interpretation shows what is not seen in the neighbourhood, but which constitutes one lived moment of a part of the local people’s everyday life, a part of its face. It is presented then in the form of an unperceived routes’s map. Thus highlighted in public space, they offer the prospect emerging the values that they carry.
